FRIDAY13 AI LABS

LEGAL

Privacy Policy

Effective 30 July 2026 · Applies to MovieRadar (web, iOS, Android) and friday13ailabs.com

Who we are

MovieRadar is operated by Sai Siddardha Gadi (Friday13 AI Labs), Falkensee, Brandenburg, Germany — the data controller for the purposes of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Contact us any time via the contact form.

What we collect

Account data.Your email address and name — either from the sign-in provider you choose (Google, GitHub or Apple, including an optional profile photo URL) or entered directly when you register with email and password. If you use Sign in with Apple and choose to hide your address, we only ever receive Apple's private relay address. Passwords are stored only as bcrypt hashes, never in plain text.

Your content. The watch history, ratings, notes, watchlist, collections, reactions, comments and friend connections you create in the app. This is the product — it's stored so the app can show it back to you.

Technical data. Session cookies (web) or an authentication token (mobile) to keep you signed in. We run no advertising and no third-party analytics trackers.

How we use it

To operate MovieRadar: sync your library across devices, show friends' shared shelves to accepted friends only, and generate AI recommendations. For recommendations, a summary of your taste profile (titles, genres, languages, ratings — never your name or email) is sent to our AI provider to produce suggestions.

We do not sell personal data. We do not use it for advertising.

Processors we rely on

  • Vercel (hosting, EU-available infrastructure) and our database provider (managed PostgreSQL)
  • TMDB — title metadata lookups (search queries only, no account identity)
  • Google Gemini API — AI recommendation generation (taste-profile summaries only, no account identity)
  • Gmail SMTP — transactional email (password reset messages)

Retention & deletion

Your data is kept while your account exists. You can delete your account yourself at any time — in the mobile app under Settings → Delete account, or on the web under Import / Export → Delete your account. Deletion is immediate and permanent: it removes your watch history, ratings, notes, collections, friend connections and chat history. You can export your data first from Import / Export.

If you would rather we did it for you, the contact form works too — write from your account's email address.

Your rights (GDPR)

You have the right to access, rectify, export and erase your personal data, to restrict or object to processing, and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (in Brandenburg: LDA Brandenburg). One email is enough to exercise any of them.

Changes

If this policy changes materially, the effective date above changes with it and significant updates are announced in the app.
